Rafelito y Altagracia

The first time I met Lia people warned me about her…they told me: “she’s a little complicated”.
Since then 9 years, one husband and 3 kids have passed. What they should’ve told me was the wonderful, relax, positive person she is. She is truly a good friend, a wonderful mother who would do anything for her kids and a loving wife who complements her husband to perfection. And on top of that she makes the best brownies in the world!!!!!

Rafael and Lia have a beautiful relationship and an even more beautiful family. Each and every one of their kids is special. They jump all over the place, but at the end on the day they are tender, smart, loving.

I have never been so at ease in a shoot!! It was natural!

It's a Boy!

This was a very special photo shoot, for two very special people, in the best moment of their lives. Angel and Bielisa met at my wedding, so I’ve been a witness of their love since the beginning. We love them dearly and the blessing of their child is our blessing too.

Daniel Elias is going to be a very lucky boy with such wonderful parents!

Knock knock!!

Some people spend their entire lives looking for love. Valentines for some is a nightmare, is only a reminder of loneliness, hopelessness and solitude. But love is out there…I assure you! the only thing you have to do is NOTHING!! Don’t push it, don’t look for it, don’t make it happen, don’t go out of your ways to please or find someone, don’t change your essence just to make some else happy.

Love will knock on your door when you’re at home in pajamas. You don’t have to look for it, love will come to you when you least expect it, it will come when you’re not thinking about, it will come when you forget about the clock ticking and when you’re enjoying yourself. Love is like a beautiful Sunday morning, is there when you open your window. Is like a cold breeze in a really warm day. There is someone out there for each and every one of us. Someone who will love you for who you are, someone with whom you can be your complete self, someone who will not care if you lose or gain a pound, if you didn’t put make up on in the morning, someone who will look beyond, deep inside your soul. And when you find each other the planets will align, the sun will shine brighter; the birds will sing…… the flowers will smell nicer than before!!!

Love is not a thing you should celebrate one day, love to others should be demonstrated every day in every little thing we do.

Love should come from within us. Those who give love shall receive!

Winter in the NYC

Short term memory

Looking trough my things the other day I came across a bunch of old cds. Data Cds.
I started viewing them all in my computer. Is funny how people always say….”life is to short”…luckily pictures exist to prove that phrase wrong. Why do people say that?? Maybe because before we die supposedly we see our whole life flashing in a matter of minutes? Or maybe some of us do so much that time seems to fly?

Life is not short….we just don’t have enough memory! So the only things that come to our mind in that final moment are the ones that shocked us the most.

How many people have we met along our way, people that touched our lives in one way or another, people that meant something to us in a given time but now we can’t remember their names or even worse…their faces? How many lives have we touched without realizing it?

I saw faces in that Cd that I thought I had erased forever and yet, when I saw then the story that took us back to that picture was fresh in my memory….at least for now(ask me again in a couple of years). I’m tragically curious to know what happened to some of the people I’ve met. Like for example the Asian guy (Andrew, I think) that unexpectedly gave me a Marvin the Martian at Six Flags Great America in 1998, the Russian girl that couldn’t speak English that same year (can she do it now); the girl that made out with my then boyfriend outside my apartment in New York while I was watching through the window; that guy that I met once from new Zealand that could hold himself totally horizontal in the air just holding a light pole, my classmate in Barcelona…one of the three friends I made there and now I cant remember her name….the only thing I can remember is her hair cut; Mariam, my Egyptian secretary, Luz Maria, my first friend….I met her in kindergarten and I was devastated when my parents move me to another school…I’ll never forget her name only because I had an aunt named the same.

To be honest if it wasn’t for Facebook, Tweeter or whatever new thing they come up with in the next ten minutes, where we find the unfindeble, we would lose big parts of our history.
